"Gen-erations! is a smorgasbord. Should one selection not be to your taste, just wait a few minutes. Better yet, it's a fitting tribute to a theater and the woman who brought it all together, and kept it going for 35 years. It's a real celebration of an important piece of Portsmouth's art community. Go. Support. Celebrate, and be entertained." Jeanné McCartin

Gen-erations! is joyful retrospective and celebration of Genevieve Aichele’s past 35 years at New Hampshire Theatre Project, including scenes, scripts and songs that she has written, directed and performed. A company of NHTP actors, including NHTP Youth Repertory Company alumni, will perform scenes and monologues from pieces like Twelfth Night, Finding the Prince, and Lysistrata, along with other favorites throughout the years and at least one of Genevieve’s story theatre scripts for young people. Genevieve will perform an excerpt from her one-woman show Resurrection as well as some of her original music. Videos and photos will celebrate 35 years of memories throughout the production.

Along with Genevieve, performers and directors include Monique Foote, Bill Humphreys, Todd Hunter, Peter Josephson, Corrie Owens-Beauchesne, Matt Recine, Sean Robinson, Jim Sears, Kathy Somssich and Paul Strand. The production team includes stage manager Jess Gero, music direction by Agnes Charlesworth and CJ Lewis, lighting and set design by Quentin Stockwell, and costume design by Fran Bechtold.

Genevieve Aichele co-founded NHTP in 1988, and has worked tirelessly to build the company since then. In September 2023, she will step down as Executive Director, although she will be maintaining a smaller role as director of the Elephant-in-the-Room Series®. She hopes to have more time for her own artistic work, some of which will certainly continue to be part of NHTP. “I’m re-wiring,” Genevieve says, “not retiring.”
