NHTP Company Artist Samantha Smith is a NH-based stage manager, actor, director, and designer originally from Foxboro, Mass. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a BA in Theatre Performance. Most recently, Samantha worked with the Seacoast Repertory Theatre as a set builder, electrician, painter, stage manager, actor, director and production manager. Favorite SM credits include Titanic, Driving Miss Daisy, As Time Goes By, Violet, Jane Eyre, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame among others. Performing as Annelle in Steel Magnolias and directing the Teen MainStage Production of Legally Blonde were highlights among her time with the Rep. Through the years, Samantha has collaborated with New Hampshire Theatre Project, ACT ONE, The Player’s Ring, Seven Stages Shakespeare, Hackmatack Playhouse, The Firehouse Center for the Arts, and Prescott Park Arts Festival. Samantha has assisted on New Hampshire Theatre Project’s productions including costuming for Great Expectations and, more recently, stage managing for Sherwood. Samantha’s experience in theatre has brought her to believe that theatre is about creating connections. Each performance brings a room full of people together each with their own background and life experience that has shaped who they are. The play is the thing that brings us together, but sharing our perspectives is what connects us.
