Dear NHTP Family & Friends,
On this day of memory, our hearts go out to all of those who are suffering during the COVID-19 pandemic, to those grieving for lost loved ones, and those adjusting to constant financial and emotional instability. Without firm guidelines from the state, all of us at NHTP are working hard to keep our creative spirits up without knowing when and how we’ll be able to perform theatre again. We are deeply grateful for the ongoing support and donation from our patrons, and we’re also pleased to announce that NHTP has been awarded a $10,000 operating grant from the NH Humanities, through CARES funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
Sadly, we have made the decision to cancel NHTP’s 2020 Summer Theatre Camps. Although the state has approved the opening of summer camps, they still have not issued specific guidelines for theatre programs and dates are unclear. Running a live camp with safe social distancing for small groups of campers is simply not financially feasible, and overwhelming feedback from parents and children is that students do not want to spend more time online once school gets out. (Perhaps this is a good thing for the future :-) NHTP will still be offering online private instruction over the summer in acting, audition preparation, stand-up comedy, public speaking and playwriting.
