2019 Workshops & Masterclasses 

NHTP offers on-going adult workshops and masterclasses at West End Studio Theatre that are designed to allow professionals and communities members alike an opportunity to develop skills, explore creative passions, and build lasting connections to their peers. 

Let Your Light Shine: 
Becoming a Powerful Public Speaker

Thursdays, January 17, 24, 31 - 2019
6:30-8:30 pm - Fee: $150

Theatre artist Genevieve Aichele and vocal instructor Martha Gleason join forces in a workshop designed to help participants awaken to their true voice power and ability to connect with audiences in an authentic way.  Both Genevieve and Martha are public speaking coaches who work with clients to build confidence, transform anxiety into a powerful performance tool, and create strategic stories that inspire and motivate audiences.  For those who feel anxious about public speaking, those making a professional transition, or those who simply want to sharpen and upgrade their presentation skills. Workshop located at West End Studio Theatre.

Adult Scene Study Workshop
Instructor: Kate Kirkwood

Tuesdays, Jan 22 to Feb 26, 2019 - Snow Date March 5
6:30-9:00 pm- Fee: $200
This workshop will focus on script and character analysis, physical and vocal skills, and multiple approaches to scene and/or monologue work using different acting techniques.  Specific content will be tailored to individual participants.  There will be an optional opportunity for a final recital performance.  Kate Kirkwood has worked as an artist in the schools, producer, director and actor for 40 years. Her experience includes stage and screen,  touring and regional theatre.  At NHTP, Kate has recently appeared in It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play and The Odd Couple (Female Version) and she was Asst. Director for Men on Boats.  In addition to educational, community and professional theatre, Kate has worked in corporate training helping managers, trainers and speakers hone their skills.  She is a nationally certified trainer, author and frequent speaker including a tedx talk in May of 2018.

Simon Brooks is a storyteller who has entranced audiences for over 10 years.  He has performed in the UK, and in the USA where he has resided since 1994.  His tales, both live and his award winning recordings, combine the intensity of solo performance with the intimacy of face-to-face conversations, delighting all. ?
