After two year's of sold-out performances, New Hampshire Theatre Project will once again celebrate the winter solstice with Oracle award-winning storyteller Diane Edgecomb, Celtic harper Margot Chamberlain, and multi-instrumentalist Tom Megan. Join us for popular favorites and some new stories on the longest night of the year as Diane weaves together a tapestry of ancient tales: evergreen myths, legends of light and entertaining stories that reveal the deep meaning behind our winter holiday traditions. Featured stories include the Scandinavian Legend of the Mistletoe, The Legend of the Christmas Rose, the Cherokee tale of Evergreen, and humorous English Wassail traditions. Margot Chamberlain and Tom Megan accompany the tales with instrumental melodies along with traditional and original songs evoking the warmth of the season.

Join us for this special holiday production of It’s a Wonderful Life. Joe Landry has re-envisioned the beloved film classic as a 1940’s style radio play. Five seasoned actors bring George, Clarence, Mary and all the residents of Bedford Falls to life on that fateful Christmas Eve – over 40 different roles. The show features holiday music and a foley artist playing live sound effects.
“Everyone at NHTP wanted to celebrate our 30th Anniversary with a mix of contemporary and traditional productions,” says artistic director Genevieve Aichele. “We haven’t done a holiday show in over a decade. It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play is a tribute to the theatre arts at their most joyful and celebratory.”
It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play is directed by Robin Fowler and features well-known seacoast actors Bill Humphreys, Todd Hunter, Peter Josephson, Kathleen Somssich and Genevieve Aichele, with Kate Kirkwood as the Foley Artist. CJ Lewis is Music Director and Sound Designer, Mike Ficarra is Lighting Designer, Fran Bechtold is Costume Designer, and Brennan Donnell is Stage Manager.
