New Hampshire Theatre Project’s Youth Repertory Company is seeking actors ages 10-14 to perform in Wonder Tales, a story theatre production directed by Meghann Beauchamp at West End Studio Theatre.   Each actor in the company will perform multiple roles using a variety of theatrical styles.  Written by Genevieve Aichele, Wonder Tales features stories of magic and mystery from many different cultures.  Ms. Aichele’s story theatre adaptations have been performed by thousands of children in schools throughout New England.  Her full-length plays for young people, Challenging Athena, Forest Secrets and Once Upon a Candlemas in Arthur’s Court are featured on Leicester Bay Theatricals.  She is also co-author of with Tracy Kane of the young readers’ novel Ocean Secrets: A Fairy Houses Mystery.

Rehearsals for Wonder Tales are Mondays & Wednesdays, 5-7 pm, April 30-May 24, with final performances on May 25-27.  Tuition is $400.  Thanks to a generous sponsorship from SIS Bank, students with demonstrated financial need can apply for full or partial scholarships.  For more information, or to arrange an audition/interview, call NHTP at 603-431-6644 ext. 4 or email gen@nhtheatreproject.org.

The NHTP Youth Repertory Company was created in 1999 and is now entering its 20th season.  Alumni stress that the program taught them to be leaders, strong communicators and creative thinkers, crediting NHTP with their success in both college and professional careers.

Alumna Hannah Feintuch, now working with Teach for America, says:  “NHTP taught me a love of the arts, to read and think critically, responsibility, and what it feels like to create something alongside others. NHTP prepared me to perform on my new stage for my 35 deserving audience members.”
