Theatre with Friends
is designed to give young theatremakers, and their friends, a chance to come together to learn and play with New Hampshire Theatre Project Teaching Artist's in a fun online hour-long session on Zoom. The Teaching Artist will lead students, in four online sessions, through games and activities in acting, directing, writing, singing, dancing, and visual art - with all experience tailored to the interests and skills of the group. Students will be given creative assignments each session to be completed in collaboration with their friends. These will take students out into the world to explore theatre in different spaces, places and environments. The fifth session of Theatre with Friends
will take place social-distanced and in masks at NHTP's 50-seat Blackbox Theatre in the heart of Portsmouth's Vibrant West End. This final in-person session will allow students to share their performance work in a professional theatre setting with basic lights, sound, props, costume and set pieces. Students are encouraged to invite friends and family to this sharing session, but guests will be limited to follow safety protocols.
This program is available for youth and teens (ages 5 - 18), and the sessions will be designed to meet the skills and experience of the group. Sessions can be booked for mornings, or afternoons in order to fit your schedule.
