The Jungle Book is a time honored classic but known to most by their experience with the memorable Disney films. This newer adaptation by R. Rex Stephenson holds true to the original text. Set in the 19th century Indian Jungle, Kipling's story follows the adventures of Mowgli, a young boy raised by wolves and taught the laws of the jungle by his two guardians, Baloo and Bagheera, as he struggles to find his way in the world. Like Kipling’s original two volumes of The Jungle Books, the play contains a collection of short stories and poems. The many generations of readers who have ranked Kipling’s books among their favorite stories will appreciate Stephenson’s fidelity to the original text.  Directed by Meghann Beauchamp.
