Junior Youth Repertory Company presents
MacBeth's Children
By Michael Bettencourt
Directed by Meghann Beauchamp & Christy Cloutier Holmes
April 13-15, 2007
Friday & Saturday @ 7PM, Saturday & Sunday @ 2PM
Written by New York playwright Michael Bettencourt, this provocative script focuses on Fleance, the escaped son of the murdered Banquo in Shakespeare’s Macbeth and explores the effects of violence, especially military violence, on children. Macbeth’s Children was originally developed with the help of thirteen young actors in the Cambridge Performance Project during the spring of 2001.
Under the direction of Meghann Beauchamp and Christy Cloutier-Holmes, the NHTP Junior Repertory Company has studied Shakespeare’s original work and drawn from their own experiences as children living in the world of 2007. Working collaboratively, this group of 14 young people from 9 different seacoast communities will ask the audience: What does it cost to be young in this world?
Directors Meghann Beauchamp and Christy Cloutier-Holmes head up the costume, scenic and lighting design and are assisted by a team of high school interns including Lauren Thompson, Colby Senior, Casey Hammon, and Hannah Feintuch.
This production is recommeded for ages 8 and older.
Tickets $10 for all ages.
