INTRODUCTION TO FUNDRAISING & GRANTWRITING

Different development strategies used by nonprofit community organizations; understanding the reasons why donors give or don't give; developing relationships; cultivation, solicitation and stewardship; leveraging technology; and how to make a strategic fundraising pitch.
Fundamentals of researching, writing and applying for grants; understanding how grants are awarded; the importance of matching grants to mission; and how grants fit into an organization’s strategic development plan.
This workshop is recommended for community volunteers, board members, students and anyone who is interested in the art of soliciting donations for an organization that serves a greater need. Instructor Genevieve Aichele teaches Fundraising, Grantwriting, Public Speaking and Nonprofit Fundamentals in the Community Leadership Program at the Thompson School of Applied Science/UNH.
